Teamwork
Commitment, self-discipline and respect for others are strongly
encouraged - and essential to successful team work. Being able
to work as part of a team is very important, but so is individuality.
We recognise that everyone brings their own unique set of qualities
and talents to the group and we provide a range of activities
that enables every member of the group to share and contribute,
developing their own particular interests along the way.
How we operate
With a combination of practical theatre experience and qualifications
in teaching and the arts, the two practitioners offer young people
the opportunity to gain a range of theatre related experiences,
not available in formal, mainstream education. Each member of
the company is expected to conduct themselves responsibly and
to maintain a positive attitude; in return they will receive direction,
support and encouragement, as they learn to express themselves
through a dramatic medium.
Facilities
Wharfingers Youth Theatre is based at the Riverhead Theatre in
Louth. The company meets in the studio theatre and so has access
to all the resources and technical facilities of a modern, purpose-built
theatre. In addition to the regular weekly activities, there are
productions, open days, workshops and theatre visits; everything
is designed to offer a rich variety of experiences from which
to learn and to enjoy.
