What is Wharfingers?
Wharfingers Youth Theatre was
founded in 2002 and is part of Louth Playgoers Society. Our
aim is to give young people with a love of the theatre the
opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills and, above
all, to have fun! Everyone between the ages of 11 and 18 is
welcome and there are no auditions or any special entry requirements,
other than enthusiasm and commitment.

Two Masked Tales
The June production, ‘Two Masked Tales’, gave members a chance to use techniques
they have been practising over the last couple of months. For some, it was a new
challenge. For those who have been in the company for longer, it was a great
opportunity to develop their skills.
The last mask workshop resulted in two devised pieces, one based on ‘Pandora’s
Box’ and the other on a scripted play in the folk genre, written by one of the
Wharfingers for a school drama project. As expected, this year’s productions were
equally diverse and innovative.
