What is Wharfingers?
Wharfingers Youth Theatre was
founded in 2002 and is part of Louth Playgoers Society. Our
aim is to give young people with a love of the theatre the
opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills and, above
all, to have fun! Everyone between the ages of 11 and 18 is
welcome and there are no auditions or any special entry requirements,
other than enthusiasm and commitment.

Wyrd
Sisters
Basically,
this is the Terry Pratchett novel of the same name, adapted for
the stage by Stephen Briggs. But what am I saying? It’s
not at all basic. It’s a funny and fantastic tale of treachery
and intrigue with a range of distinctively dysfunctional characters
that includes… a wicked duke and duchess, the ghost of a
murdered king, a whimsical jester, a shiny green demon, some rather
dim soldiers– oh, and three witches.
‘Wyrd Sisters’ seemed a perfect choice for the November
2005 production, because it has such an array of colourful, quirky
characters and the kind of humour that can be appreciated by practically
all age groups. The cast quickly fell in love with the play and
began to develop their various roles with enthusiasm.
